People with intellectual disabilities (ID) are more likely to be involved in the criminal justice system. This training explores the potential reason behind this over-representation. It also discusses issues related to evaluations done for legal purposes, such as determining if someone is capable of standing trial, their criminal responsibility, and malingering. The training reviews essential court cases and federal laws relating to ID and potential variations in law across jurisdictions.
